Libs name candidate
ANDREW Kilmartin has been picked by the Liberal Party to challenge sitting MP Martha Haylett in Ripon at next November’s state election.
Mr Kilmartin, a former radio journalist in Ballarat, was selected by the party’s state executive on Sunday after an earlier pre-selection convention did not have the required attendance of branch delegates.
Mr Kilmartin stood for the Liberals in the Ballarat seat of Buningyong at the last election.
The Nationals are expected to name their candidate early in 2026 with former Ararat mayor Jo Armstrong tipped to get the nod.
