Chilly conditions don’t keep Saints out of winners circle
ON A chilly morning at St Arnaud, the Saints welcomed Charlton in a match that held special significance as the club celebrated All Cancers: Maddi’s Round.

Players and supporters proudly wore touches of green and lavender, representing Maddi’s favourite colour and raising awareness for all cancers under the message, “No One Fights Alone.”
SEVENTEEN St Arnaud netballers joined the Under 14C scratch match this week, with Amelia M, Ebony M, Olivia B, Ella C and Tahleah W playing their first game at this level.
Ava S came out firing for Green, and Maddie M shot with accuracy.
The purple team responded in the second with Halley H levelling up the score board with her long goals, and Amelia M also converted well.

ST ARNAUD Under 14B started strongly with the opening centre pass, and it wasn’t long before Phoenix scored the first goal of the game.
The Saints settled quickly, displaying excellent timing, strong defensive pressure and smooth ball movement through the court.
After half time, the intensity remained high despite the cold conditions. St Arnaud’s defence continued to apply pressure and force turnovers, limiting Charlton’s opportunities. By the final change, the Saints had extended their advantage to 24-2.
A highlight of the match came when Evie E produced a fantastic turnover from Charlton’s centre pass, helping her team maintain momentum heading into the final quarter.

THE Under 14A side put out a strong team performance this week, showing great improvement and teamwork across all areas of the court against Charlton in Maddi’s round.
A determined defensive effort set the tone for the game, with Matilda, Georgie and Jaylah working tirelessly to make life difficult for the opposition
Their defensive pressure, combined with their resets up the court allowed for patient and controlled passages of play.
There were several outstanding intercepts throughout the game, with Charlie J, Matilda K and Jaylah C all reading the play well.
The second quarter saw a significant improvement in attack, with the team working beautifully. Shooters Georgie M and Tasha B capitalised on their opportunities, producing an impressive 10-goal quarter. Their connection with teammates and movement in the attacking end was a highlight of the match.
Imogen W worked hard in the centre position, keeping the game flowing with her consistent leads and strong work rate.

THE SAINTS’ Under 17s netball team delivered a commanding performance on Saturday.
Their strong defensive pressure and accurate shooting continued into the second quarter.
Charlton emerged after the main break with renewed determination and started the third quarter strongly, challenging the Saints’ control of the contest.
However, St Arnaud quickly steadied and regained momentum. The Saints continued to dictate play in the final quarter, although the match was unfortunately interrupted in the closing minutes when play was stopped due to an injury to a Charlton player.

B GRADE played out a hotly contested and fairly even match.
After a slow first quarter while adjusting to some new combinations, the Saints settled well and matched the Navies throughout the second term. Although the early deficit proved hard to overcome, the team remained consistent in their efforts.
It was fantastic to again, welcome Keegan Amos back to her home side for the weekend. Starting in Centre, Keegan slotted seamlessly into the team and it was great to see her back in Saints colours.
Chloe N was a strong presence at GS, working tirelessly to keep defenders guessing with her movement and positioning. Another standout was Millie H, who played four quarters in WD and created numerous turnovers and repeatedly influenced the game with her pressure and determination.
After a strong performance in the 17s, Sienna C backed it up with an excellent B Grade game. She was relentless in the defensive circle, making attackers work hard for every possession.
Leish P continued to provide valuable guidance and insight into defensive pressure and Sienna embraced the challenge and made the role her own.
