A TRIP to town has turned into an exciting new exhibition opening next month.

Trentham artist Gayle Cykner spent time in St Arnaud and began painting what she saw in the region.

“Her work focuses on finding beauty in the ordinary aspects of daily life,” Hub marketing and publicity officer Sue Hynes said.

“Gayle’s work focuses on the subject matter by specialising in capturing local scenes, including backyards, laneways, and overlooked everyday vistas.

“She works primarily with oil on canvas to create detailed and often vibrant depictions of these scenes. Gayle’s work is described as a celebration of local environments and honouring the ordinary.

“Light’s Cutting Edge” will officially open at the Hub on Sunday, April 11 at 2pm.

But in the mean time, “Connections”, the current exhibition, is still open for visitors.

“It will fill your Easter outing.”
