Douglas’ dig a little deeper

THE Douglas family is adding another venture to its business suite, but this one goes hand-in-hand with the rest.
Douglas Sand and Soil was born from the closure of Greentime Nursery on May 31, which then created a slight gap in the market.
“We didn’t want to do anything without everyone’s blessing and we would never want to step on toes,” Tristan Douglas said.
“But this just fits in so well with everything else we do so it made sense.
“It was also something we had considered for a long time.”

“We already work in and around the district anyway so it’s easy for us to deliver or provide products for people to come pick up,” Samantha Douglas said.
“We supply to people living in residential areas or working commercially.”
If you’re still not sure where you might have seen these faces, Tristan has been a director, agronomist and real estate agent at Driscoll AG since the business opened its St Arnaud branch in 2014.
Sam has also worked around the business, handling the administration and finance side of the business since 2015.
The couple said they were excited to see this new little business grow into the future.
“We have so many big ideas in the pipeline, but don’t want to get ahead of ourselves,” Tristan said.
“We couldn’t be more thankful for all the support our customers have shown us over the years and the excitement they’ve already shown to this new side of the business.
“But even St Arnaud as a whole, we couldn’t do it without the community’s support.”
