With not a breath of wind and a beautiful morning setting the scene, the Saints took control early and never looked back.
THE Saints produced another dominant performance in ideal footy conditions on Saturday morning, running away with a convincing over Calder United.
With not a breath of wind and a beautiful morning setting the scene, the Saints took control early and never looked back.
The opening quarter saw the Saints pile on the pressure, kicking the first goal of the match before Maddox Stuart slotted a terrific goal from a tight angle.
Finn Evans added to the scoreboard, snapping a clever goal from deep in the pocket, while a tight Saints defensive unit kept Calder scoreless in the opening term.
He then moved into the ruck and gave the Saints first use of the footy, repeatedly clearing the ball beautifully down to the forwards. The defensive line continued to hold strong, led by Ethan Frey, while Calan Wickham caught fire with two goals in the quarter.
The Saints continued to lock the ball in their forward half, and Kayden Keating provided a highlight when he marked the kick-out before immediately turning around and converting truly for a goal.
The Saints continued to pile on goals through Arley Reyne, Darcy Brookes-Oakes and Ned Ezard to seal another emphatic victory.
Best on grounds went to Darcy Brookes-Oakes Maddox Stuart, Charlie Kirk, Kayden Keating and Leo Kay.
