GALLERY: St Joes Charlton students find peace in art
The exhibition runs at Mallee Creatives until July 12.
STUDENTS from St Joseph’s Primary School Charlton had their first taste of having their artworks on display and up for auction last week at Mallee Creatives.
The youngsters worked hard over the last term or two dreaming up and letting their creative juices flow as they created pieces for their exhibition: “Peace”.
They were asked to think about what peace means to them and capture it in an artwork of their choice. “I painted a person running from their farm into a sunset because when I sit and think about what peace looks like, that’s what I think of,” student Vinny Roberts said.
“That’s my happy place.”
After a rendition of ‘What a Wonderful World’ by Louis Armstrong, families were invited into the gallery to find their child’s work and make a purchase.
The exhibition runs at Mallee Creatives until July 12.
