Movie fundraiser
HEAD to St Arnaud Community Cinema on Friday night to give back to Vision Australia.
You will be able to enjoy a lovely supper while enjoying a screening of H is for Hawk.
The movie follows Helen, a grieving academic who turns to training a goshawk named Mabel after her father’s sudden death.
Immersed in falconry, she confronts isolation, the pull of the natural world, and the necessity of re-engaging with life.
Critics praise Claire Foy’s restrained yet raw performance and the film’s lush cinematography, though its slow pacing and somber tone may limit appeal to those ready for a meditative, grief-driven drama.
The film will screen from 7.30pm this Friday night.
Enjoy Jazz this July
GET ready to swing, as Charlton Arts presents the Maryborough Traditional Jazz Ensemble next month.
The Band is known for their toe taping mix of 1920s and the 30s jazz Australian tunes Latin American numbers Glen Miller -style favourites.
Jazz in July will show on July 5 from 1.30pm at the Rex Theatre Charlton. Tickets cost $25 and include afternoon tea, book: www.theatre.org.au/live-shows.
