IN BRIEF: volunteers needed and students learn from leaders

Volunteer drivers needed
DRIVERS are needed to provide a transport lifeline for Grampians residents needing to get to essential medical appointments.
Grampians Community Health is calling on compassionate locals to join its Community Car Volunteer Program, which helps local people overcome transport barriers.
Over the past year, the program has grown steadily.
More than 10 dedicated volunteers have collectively provided more than 168 trips covering 41,636 kilometres.
Drivers transport locals to medical appointments in Ballarat, Geelong, and Melbourne.

Learning from leaders
CHARLTON College Student Leadership Council (SLC) students from Years 10-12 were invited to participate in a leadership skills-building session with Buloke Shire Council last Monday.
They learnt valuable skills in running student engagement programs and learnt to increase the effectiveness with which they run their meetings.
The council was thanked for supporting the students.
