Knights family gives back to charity house
And years down the track and with two thriving youngsters, they wanted to say thanks in the best way they knew how.
AFTER utilising Ronald McDonald House (RMH) while her babies spent time in hospital, Hannah Knights said she wanted to give back.
After the stress of having her young ones away from home and needing care, the team at the Melbourne charity house were a source of stability.
And years down the track and with two thriving youngsters, they wanted to say thanks in the best way they knew how.
“With the incredible help from the St Arnaud community, we were able to make and donate 93 toiletry gift packs to Ronald McDonald House,” Mrs Knights said.
“We wanted to do this because my children Henry and Claudia spent time in ICU at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
“I also wanted to help other families by providing essentials they may not have had time to pack in an emergency.”
After the idea to create the packs came to her, it wasn’t long after that the community jumped in to lend a hand.
“The kindness and generosity will make a real difference to families doing it tough,” Mrs Knights said. “We truly appreciate everyone who contributed and helped make this possible and thank you to St Arnaud Primary School for all your help packing and making kindness cards to go with the gifts.”
The family then made the trip down to Parkville to hand deliver the packs to RMH. “We hope it helps someone else,” Mrs Knights said.
