Sweet end to Charlton bowls season

Each bowler had a card and scores themselves if the get a bowl within the first four best.

CHARLTON Bowling Club members marked their Anzac Day with a fifteen end game of scroungers.

The 19 players were split to have four on each rink and a three rink.

Each bowler had a card and scores themselves if the get a bowl within the first four best.

Scores are the same as 100UP with the best four bowls being 4, 3, 2, 1 a total of 10 each end.

The winner was Eily Rosewall with 61 points.

Bowlers then went inside to a wonderful afternoon tea provided by the members and partners.

President Michael O’Brien congratulated the club on the year.

“We didn’t do much in Saturday Pennant, but congratulations to our midweek team who played off in the finals,” he said.

O’Brien congratulated the championship winners, and it was good to see new bowlers among the Trophy Winners,

“Look out for the Handicapper, no more Scratch Handicaps,” O’Brien said.

The championship fours was played mid-March in a round robin format with the winner being Jennie McGrath, Doug Gretgrix, Mark Hamley and Kevin Willey.
