Young Saints shine
THIS week the Saints came up against the Charlton Navies for Maddi’s Round, and the Saints started the game strongly with an early goal from Finn Evans.

Strong defensive play from Ethan Fray, great forward kicking from Darcy Brooks-Oaks, and additional goals from Maddox Stewart(1), Jack Wait (1) and Finn Evans (2) contributed to a 33 – 0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Charlton’s pressure increased in the second, making the Saints fight harder to win the ball. Clean ball movement from Ned Ezard and Patrick Zsigmond, and goals from Isaac Johns and Darcy Brooks-Oaks saw the Saints finish the first half strongly.
Charlton put in a gallant effort early in the third, but it wasn’t enough to stop the determined Saints.
Alvie Dix and Calan Wickham showed courage and skill, and a further 3 goals from Finn Evans extended the lead to 68-0.
In the last some clean ball movement from Riley Batters and Charlie Kirk, tackling and running from Lewis Lowe and Darcy Brooks-Oaks, and additional goals from Finn Evans (1), Maddox Stewart (1), and Lewis Ezard (2) all contributed to the win.
Over all it was a fantastic game from all players who displayed confidence, determination and teamwork throughout all areas of the ground.
